Wicked album by Death! -My personal favourite from them.
Mastering was well done on this, sounds really good!
-
Phenomenal sounding record!! Amazing pressing, no surface noise at all. Very clear tone and no detail in the sound is lost. The look of the splattered color vinyl is also very pretty.
A perfect pressing for a perfect album!
Sadly my record did not come with a code, not that it really matters though. -
one of my best sounding records i own. everything about the packaging is perfect too, as with all the 2020 pressings of deaths discography you can tell they really care

Edited 3 years agoVery nice looking but the sound lacks dynamics and "flesh". I also have early Nuclear Blast CD pressing and 2014 Relapse 2CD reissue, and current LPs sound just exactly as both these CDs. Flat, dull. No ripping guitars, no vibes on acoustic 'Voice Of The Soul'. To be honest, both CD pressings offer ± the same quality. But vinyl is supposed to deliver a wider dynamic range. Alas, not here.
My setup: Pioneer PL-1800, Creek OBH8-SE phonostage (russian clone), Sherwood AL-7010, JBL LX-44. Carts used: Empire 888SE, Pickering XV-15 625E, Ortofon 2m red. And I do have vinyl reissues that sound amazing. Unanimated 'Ancient God Of Evil' for example. -
Can't understand how this pressing can sound so HUGE!!!!! even high res files pale in comparison. zero issues with my copy.
-
Really great quality pressing here, zero issues with surface noise or anything. The coloration is also beautiful. Might be the definitive pressing for this album.

Edited 4 years agoI have never posted a review or comment on any record but this thing sounds SO tight and clear. Seems like I'm hearing the album again for the first time. A must buy and the coloring is just a bonus.

Just got this new vinyl version. The coloring is so unique I love how it looks and how thick and sturdy it is. Great sounding reissue, along with all the DEATH vinyl reissues from Relapse in my opinion. I now own 4 versions of this album, I think there may be something wrong with me. R.I.P. Chuck.

I can't believe how dead quiet this pressing is. Absolutely no surface noise, pops, or anything. Sounds fantastic and looks great to boot!
