Edited 2 years agoSpectre is the stand out track here, its a lovely tech / atmos crossover, just brilliant, love it!
Also interesting to note that 'In The Zone' was written for this EP but given to Bukem who eventually released it in 2004 on his 'Good Looking Records' label - https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/423989
Some text from Aquasky's soundcloud page regarding the tune -
"We actually wrote this (In The Zone) as part of the Radium EP in 2000 but Bukem loved it so much and was on our case quite hard that we ended up giving it to him. which is cool as he was ing us from the start and we knew him before the aquasky days as he always played in bournemouth in the early 90s. TBH the whole release was a bit of a cock up. we have no idea if it ever got properly released, we dont get any s and we never knew how it sold! it was on a couple of GLR comps and i think there was a white label release as well... anyone know anything more please let us know!!!" -
All 4 tracks are belters, not much more to say, all different styles, good drum loops and some gnarly bass of the time. Great EP, wish we heard this kinda stuff again! Everything these days is too maxed out, everything too loud in the mix, no dynamic range just loudness wars between producers. Sad really!

Spectre is a masterclass in techstep. Rolling and dark but somehow bright and uplifting at the same time, a classic IMO
