This is the only place you could find the unreleased "Rock is Dead" Sessions, previously only available only in bootlegs such as:
https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/5112886-The-Doors-The-Rock-Is-Dead-Sessions
Listen to it on Spotify/Tidal/etc and appreciate this very special recording! -
Well yes it sounds good, I bought it mostly for the vinyl since the cd players are not anymore in my car and that I use to listen cd in car only so it could have been Nice to made only vinyl box set... So vinyl sound really good, full space between instrument bass is more présent on some track and Morrison vocal is really clear and present. Altough compare to.original Is first press, there is not a real difference on the volume output, so both sounds Nice but différently. Also i notice that the reissue is more compacted than my first press since the inner groove space is thinner on the original one.

i just got this 50th ann box set the other day and did a review for it on amazon and like the kinks arthur 50th ann box set i reviewed for them a couple of weeks ago THEY BUTCHERED THE FREAKIN REVIEW so im finding amazon a waste of time nowdays sadly, discogs NEVER MAKES THESE MISTAKES W/ COMMENTS/REVIEWS anyway i did not enjoy this box set as much as last years waiting for the sun and the two 50th ann box sets from 2017 i got from japan on shm remastering, what makes this one different???? the robbie krieger overdubs from 2019, THIS IS STILL A FANTASTIC RELEASE THOUGH FOR ANY DOORS DIE HARD OR COLLECTOR as this is great for the complete rock is dead portion and the original doors mixes from 5 decades ago, the new overdubs are not bad BUT like with the past few of these 50th ann doors releases it would be nice if they gave us more in the can live stuff from 1969 when the doors toured this record, anyway as i said this is still worth it, the new remaster on the original cd sounds great as well as the analog record that seems to replicate the original 1969 release of the original lp record, over all its a very nice set and YESSS i look foward to the next 50th ann releases wich will be morrisson hotel & LA woman.....i just wish this had come with a nice coffee table style book......
