as characteristic of these classic vinyl reissues, incredible mixing by kevin grey, the pressing quality leaves a little to be desired. mark on first 20 seconds of A1 causes notable distortion, other than that an incredible listen. it’s a dice throw, but a good copy of these reissues is worth the money. -
Just bought a repress theres no listing of the 2024 repress to revew on discogs. The record was in a poly lined inner like the later Classic series. sounds good. didnt cost a lot. was on sale for $22 USD

Record came with one HUGE and deep scratch that nearly ruined A2, unfortually I just listened to this record after owning it for almost two years! -
What a year for jazz! What a year for Joe! Joe recorded in 1964 eight superb albums for Blue Note label. Two of them were his own groups and albums. Both Inner Urge and In 'N Out belongs to his essentials. Next with Horace Silver, Duke Parson, Kenny Dorham or Freddie Roach belongs to the best for the leaders. Next one, Point of Departure with Andrew Hill is compared to the treasures of jazz.. In 'N Out is brighter, refreshing in comparison to the Inner Urge which is more intimate or angry, but truly amazing both. The reissue is excellent, in same high quality level like Inner Urge. For every jazz fans also true documents of jazz history. Thank´s to all.

Perfect pressing. Amazing sounding record. One of Henderson' best as we know. Do not hesitate. This 80th anniv. remaster is wonderful. -
Edited 4 years agoOrdered 4 copies of this record. Every copy has pressing/manufacturing issues. The mastering is excellent. -
Fantastic! Clean, flat and flawless pressing. Dynamic with a nice wide sound stage. It has a full, warm, rich and expansive sound. Blue Note did a great job! -
