The first disc is warped but it does not negatively affect the playback quality. Like others have said, side 3 has a skip right in the middle of Supper's Ready. Overall, the quality is less than I would have liked, but the album still sounds good.

This is the best version I’ve ever heard of this strong performance that has been well presented on prior releases. Even if you are satisfied with your current version, I really encourage you to give this one a spin. It’s very alive from top to bottom and doesn’t show even the slightest indication of artificial enhancements or filtering.

This is one fantastic sounding pressing of this album. Prepare for the gut punch that is “Apocalyse in 9/8!”

Aside from the reported pops others have noted on side 3 (which on my copy is present even after an ultrasonic cleaning), this pressing is very good. Bass pedals hit me right in the solar plexus. A fantastic listening experience!
-
The music itself sounds fantastic…but it’s clear that the artwork and photographs used are scans. A small complaint in an otherwise brilliant package.
-
Experienced some popping on Supper’s Ready so got a replacement copy, same issue in the same place. Wondering if it’s a pressing issue?

Edited 3 years agoSound is pretty full, warm and clear. Bass pedals shake. Some complaints about the mix, which I think is a product of the remixing / remastering from the mid-2000s: Hackett is totally buried throughout; Phil's count-in on Squonk is strangely truncated (one beat?); the phaser-y sort of reverb throughout, especially on the top end of the drums and vocals from the original mix (which I kind of liked) isn't there; though Phil's vocal introduction "Supper's Ready" that was absent from the remastered CDs is back. A solid job. Bad skips at the beginning of Side 3 out of the sleeve.
EDIT: after a few more listens, I’m really starting to like this — drum sounds are particularly natural and live sounding. Definitely a keeper! -
