This Beer City release annoyed the hell out of me with it's muffled sound, the richness of the cymbals are totally compressed. I've no idea what they used to master this, and anyone saying "well, it was cheaply recorded to begin with" is missing the point. I recalled the pressing I bought back in 87 sounding much better, so I got another 87 press and, yep, sounds much, much better than this. If you are okay with a "able" reissue and don't want to spend a little extra for earlier pressings, here you go. You want the one that sounds the best? Go for an original 85 or 87 Death Records issue. Beer City screwed up DRI's Crossover as well - completely distorted and unlistenable.

After giving this a deep wet clean and ultrasonic bath, this thing still has a considerable amount of surface noise, mostly only audible during quiet parts, which there aren't many! ;) The sound quality overall is good, albeit a tad boxy sounding at times, probably in the mixing and not the pressing. Great album regardless!

This is my second copy of this LP. The first one I returned, manufacture defect. track skipped over and over.
