Tons of surface noise on my copy as well, really disappointing. New to vinyl and was SUPER analyzing the turntable, blaming it. Threw something else on, no issues. Hail Stan is, by far, my favorite Periphery album so maybe I should search for another copy but really hate the idea of spending the money twice.

First of all, I absolutely love this record, and I think its Periphery's best work. For this release - the jacket and color pattern on the vinyl are very cool. However, while my copy doesn't have too much surface noise, it does unfortunately have an off-center Side D. Not sure if this is a problem for anyone else, but the tone arm moves noticably when I play it, and the wow and flutter are significant during one of my all-time favorite Periphery songs, Satellites. Hard to listen to, and I'm disappointed, having spent so much on it. Interestingly this doesn't seem to be a problem on Side C, so idk if the stamper was just messed up on my pressing or what. Regardless this remains an excellent record, though at this point its going for 3x what I paid… wouldn't say that's really worth it.

Edited 6 years agoA Review: This whole release was blessed by Stan!
The records came out beautiful, and sound excellent, even on my modest setup.
The entire packaging is a lovely mate finish, with a very cool design throughout.
Everything feels and well made, and what a great album to boot.
(Update, I added photos to the discoggs listing from my copy) -
Release description says x/500, was this confirmed? Considering how long it was available online, Id guess it was a much higher pressing limit.
