Edited 3 years agoThe return of Suffocation was a triumph. This album absorbed all the best that was in the band's releases in the 90s and brought it down to the audience with a vengeance. Perhaps, in of the overall level of musical material, this album is the closest to the level of "Pierced From Within", although the manner of presenting the material here is more delicate. In any case, "Souls To Deny" is my favorite record in the post-reunion period.
If we talk about the chatacter of the sound on this press, but I would call it specific: the vocals, bass and drums are brought forward, while the guitar sound is not enough (and this is very noticeable, for example, at the moments of solo parts). This sound is quite different from the CD version, where the instrument balances are distributed a little differently, however, you can also get used to the sound from vinyl. Just be prepared for the fact that your experience of listening to this album will be different. Otherwise, this is a fairly regular edition: a single sleeve, an inner insert on thin paper and the cheapest envelope for a vinyl without antistatic.
A great album, but the label's production doesn't satisfy to the status of the band. -
