Everything sounds great.Loud , fat , the guitar cuts the air . There is a slight drop in quality on the a7, but knowing how it is recorded and sounds, few people will notice the deterioration. But EVERYTHING IS VERY BAD with pressing . It was so dirty that initially, not a single track on side A could be played without skips . I had to wash it for a very long time and a lot , because the A7 track didn 't want to play properly ( and it's my favorite ) . I still cleaned the vinyl, but the noise in quiet places remained. Monstrous quality control ( such is the horror of the Record Industry ... I never thought they could screw up like that) 3/5

Honestly opinion - all the SOAD reissue covers looks like crap. Any decent graphic would fix that in one hour. It is good that they are cheap cause these are a cheap made pressings with low quality.. If Music On Vinyl will do SOAD records in future I will change all of them without a doubt. For now it will do.

Honest review:
Picture at the cover is in deed enlarged but, dude, this is about 2 decades later and picture still original.
Everything else looks in place. My copy didn’t come with the sticker but whatever.
About the distortions:
Dude, I had a casette copied from a copy from an original CD. Back in the days when I was a teenager I could only dream with this.
Distortions sounds as distorted as they have to be. Go buy the black album from Metallica if you expect that level of mix/master.
Voices, and drums sound clear, bass sounds exactly as it should: at times pretty clear, and at times like opaque and bombed. Guitars sounds crashing and dirt.
It’s really well balanced. Not flat whatsoever.
This sounds great.
Cheers
PS: all tested with my hi-fi expensive gear. All awarded and tested by hi-fi magazine. -
Barely enjoyable. Distorted and clipping. Also muddy. Looks VG+ visually straight from a still sealed cover. Has 4-5 pops and clicks. CD-version sounds much much better. What on earth is happening in the pressing plants these days?

Edited 6 years agoInstead of a pricey 180g reissue they just went for simple and affordable. I bought it for 18 euros at FNAC Lisbon and its pretty decent.

Edited 4 years agoAmazing to finally have this landmark album on vinyl. Quite why it took so long is a mystery, especially with the amount of shitty bootlegs that have been floating around for years.
Anyway, here it is at last. What does the vinyl sound like? Pretty good! Real heavy bass, Shavo's lines sound literally alive through your speakers. John's percussion shines & Serj's vocals sit proudly & defiantly on top of the mix for all to hear.
And yeah, Daron's riffs fucking destroy the place as they should.
Of course it'll all depend on your turntable setup, but I'm pretty sure anyone with a half-decent setup will find the same results I have.
Regarding the vinyl weight, no it's not 180g. But that's a whole crock of shit anyway. Vinyl weight has NO bearing to pressing quality (I've heard sub-120g vinyl that sounded perfect). It's all about the mastering, and thankfully this LP delivers. Not just a lazy CD rip either.
At the price this is selling for, you'd be a fool to not pick a copy up. -
Edited 6 years ago1) Finally! It's a shame that one the most iconic alternative records was not available on vinyl
2) Sound is just good. Really good. Much better than last Korn's release for example (my humble opinion)
3) I'm a bit dissapointed it is not 180 gr weight, and no merch inside. But it costs not so much, so okay... On the other hand I wound give even more to have SOAD in my collection, so I'd love to have a poster or something.
PS The same words for other albums.
