why did they wait for their worse album ever to get an outside producer in? the machine stops and into the woods would have been truly brilliant with sort of production. i think the fact it has been given an easy listening tag here says it all really

I was a little nervous about this release - as a big Hawkwind fan my first thoughts were are Hawkwind running out of ideas, is there rock opera around the corner, is Dave Brock going to start an acting career? Fear not Hawkheads, we can all sleep soundly. This is a great album with excellent creative re-workings of some classic Hawkwind tracks with more of an acoustic vibe, yes there are some strings and classical bits and pieces and these enhance and inject even more emotion into the tracks. The Watcher is superb, Lemmy I am sure would agree, We Took The Wrong Steps Years Ago is an acoustic odyssey with lyrics that resonate as if written today. Intro The Night together with Down Through The Night are a fitting end to an amazing album - Can't wait to see Dave Brock making an appearance in the next Marvel Film - Captain Technical? Bring it on......
