From its very origins as a genre, rock has had a really important input of theatrics, excessiveness and bizarre engraved in its DNA.

Go ask Arthur Brown, Bowie or Bolan.

It might even be something inherited from its father the blues, since Screamin' Jay Hawkins was trying to put a spell on us, or even before.

I'd say it all reached its paroxysm with Kiss; I'm not really a fan of them, but I also think that they incarnate that part of rock that's inherent to it: the big time show and, as such, if they wouldn't exist, they'd have to be invented.

Can Ghost be 21st century's Kiss?

Well, that'll depend on tastes: as with the Simmons' bunch, I'm not a devoted fan and own just a couple of their albums. I believe there's plenty of bands out there deserving more attention than Tobias Forge's ghouls.

Still, they fill their role quite well, and offer plenty of entertainment and nice tunes.

2008's "Prequelle" has some of these.

From one of my favourite songs out of the entire band's catalogue, the straight rocker "Rats", going through "Dance Macabre", sharing the spirit of Thin Lizzy's "Dancing In The Moonlight", to the fine instrumental "Miasma" and a cool saxophone part (we'll never have enough sax, cowbell and tambourine in rock, guys!), "Prequelle" is a thoroughly enjoyable album if you fancy some pop-infused rock melodies with a twist, while you also get your fix of playful showbiz theatricals imaginery around Cardinal Copia and his nameless ghouls.

After all, we'll always need a well-thought and carried out escapist number not lacking humming-friendly tunes around, and I'm sure the grandfathers of shock rock would approve!

Most of the black vinyl I've encounter have a ton of dimples and surface pops and cracks even with correct cleaning. AVOID.

Did anyone else notice the different cover artworks? Look at the horseman: one version has him in the bottom left corner, another in a mid to right position. Are there any other variations? Are they sent out randomly?

Weird release. The digipak doesn't have the bonus tracks. Did the complete opposite and the standard jewelcase has them.

Has anyone emailed Loma Vista and inquired A pressing quantities yet? They were pretty forthcoming with Meliora figures.
