Edited one year agoThe rumours are true, this is a RIDICOUSLY noisy pressing! Also, the ride cymbal is quite noisy (not quite as bad as the UK London promo pressing). Your best bet is probs the Alleviated remastered version, although it doesn't sound quite right to me.

Edited 6 years agoJust heard Marshall Jefferson play Washing Machine on Radio 6 during the day...Never thought I would ever hear this on daytime BBC Radio! How times have changed (for the better) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00006y9

LTJ Bukem commented on Washing Machine in the first edition of Muzik magazine:
"Washing Machine is a conscious piece of music. It's one to make you think. It came out in 1986 and I first heard it at a club, it was a tune that really stuck out. I bought it in around 1988 at a record fair. At the time it fitted what was going down and I used to play it at Confusion at Shaftesbury's on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. It's around 120 BPM and very mellow.
