So, I was able to get a 2xLP black variant of the D&P vinyl reissue a month early. It sounds incredible! Its not even my favorite '90s Prince album but the songs pack so much sonic punch and have such crisper detail than its CD and cassette issues ever did. Collectors will not be disappointed! I now await the massive super duper deluxe!

      Album Revolution #11:

"Diamonds and Pearls" was designed to do two things for "Prince"....One, bring him back to "R&B"....Second, to put him back in the limelight...It accomplished both!

No, it's not perfect, but with the newly formed "New Power Generation" ("Rosie Gaines", Vocals; "Tommy Barbarella", keyboards; "Levi Seacer, Jr"., moved to Guitar; "Sonny T." , Bass; "Michael B.", Drums; and Dancers: "Damon D.", "Kirk J.", and "Tony M.", who also Raps), HITS like "Gett Off" (the first single), with it's HYPED UP Beats and "Funky Funk", it kept "Prince" in good standing...

The second single in "Cream", is classic "Prince" being introduced to a whole new generation...

The "Title Track", which is laced in smoothness, with "Prince" in low tone, so he can allow "Rosie Gaines" to shine all over the Record...

There are others ts worth mentioning..

Songs like "Daddy Pop", "Willing And Able","Walk Don't Walk" and "Push", really showed how "Prince & The NPG" worked so well together...

Even the silly "Jughead" has a place here....

      There are 3 Crown Jewels...

"Live 4 Love" is a very pronounced t with very thought provoking lyrics....

The second in "Insatiable" was the best Slow t he made since "Adore"...

The 3rd and the most UNDERRATED song on here has to be "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" (MY FAVORITE).....Not only is it the most Musical of all the songs with it's "Philly Soul" sound, it's message, even over 30 years old, still applies today.....

So no it is not perfect, but it is a PRINCE CLASSIC!!!!!!!

PS: Nov. 24, 2023.....I just bought the 2 LP Cream Vinyl at my FAVORITE "Austin, TX" Record Store, "Waterloo Records"....

I still have my CD from back in the days, but since I have been REVIVED by Vinyl, I barely listened to it....Once dropping the needle on this album, I realize just how GREAT this album was!!!!!!

Listening practically to MY TS, "Walk Don't Walk", "Jughead", "Live 4 Love", "Insatiable" and ESPECIALLY MY FAVORITE "Money Don't Matter 2 Night", just makes me smile!!!!!!

Just being able to hear these ts on Vinyl puts a whole new DYNAMIC in my collection!!!!! I hope that you Guys, who purchased the album, FEEL the same!!!!!

PSS: 6/20/2024: I just re-listened to "Jughead"....I know in my initial review I called this song SILLY, and it STILL is....But taking a DEEPER listen to it, the ending had "Tony M." REALLY SPELLING out the PITFALLS of the Music Business, and how Record Companies operate!!!!! This was the MESSAGE that "Prince" ALWAYS wanted to GET THROUGH to his "Fellow Artists"...So maybe it may sound a little dated to some, the MESSAGE is ON POINT!!!!!!!
