I was a massive fan of 1990's "Peace" and then Anything Box seemed to disappear. This was pre-internet days, and of course, years later I learned of the band's struggle to dissolve their contract with Epic Records. Well, in early 1994, I was at the local Camelot Music store, searching through the "A's" section and found "Hope"! I nearly had a heart attack from the excitement of FINALLY getting some new Anything Box music! I was not disappointed. "Hope" is an absolute synthpop classic. Gorgeous songs and impeccable production. I just listened to it start to finish today and was impressed how wonderful it still is 30 years later! "Answer Me", "Every Single Day", "Where Is Love And Happiness", "Blue Little Rose", "Life Is Fun" and 'A Moment's Shifting" are all exquisite representations of the synthpop genre. Fans of Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode or Kraftwerk will find plenty to embrace here.

A typical American synthpop release that won't raise any eyebrows when played. The production is good and there are some catchy songs in here, but they still only warrant a spin of this disc maybe once or twice a year. Among the better tracks is the title track "Hope" which contains a very recognizable loop from Kraftwerk's "Autobahn".
