Perfect pressing. Perfect. Difficult task considering ambient music is one of the more difficult to translate to vinyl.
Here to echo the other positive commented below. Worth the time/investment getting a good copy. -
Edited 5 years agoIncredible record with an incredible pressing. Mine is dead silent and dynamic. I’ve got lots of ambient albums, this one tops the list.
Edit: just noticed this was pressed at Pallas, that makes sense for the quality of this. -

Edited 6 years agoIf you were turned off by the lack of QC of the initial run of Music for Nine Post Cards by Empire of Signs, Rest assured this album got its due. Amazing pressing, just how it should be for the master.

My copy from Red Eye has quite a lot of crackling and distortion on Side A, especially at the beginning of Track 1 - quite unfortunate for such a beautiful album.

It's hard to imagine this was pulled from a cassette. My copy sounds great. So glad Yoshimura's work is getting reissued for new ears to explore.

My first visit to Japan a couple of weeks ago and I find myself searching with my eldest daughter, who also loves music and vinyl, for a little record store named BEAMS in Harajuku in the rain at night, magical.
We found it and the young man at the counter asked me what kind of music I liked. When I mentioned Brian Eno he pointed immediately to this record and placed it on the turntable for me. Soon the store (and the alley outside the shop) was filled with Yoshimura's beautiful music.
I was entranced and was so happy to heve been introduced to this artist and album. I also feel lucky to have been able to buy the first repressing, as isma. has said and as the man in BEAMS also told me, it was getting very hard to find. Now I am back in Australia and every time I place this on the turntable I am reminded of Japan and the first record I bought there (and makes me want to return!) -
Well, what a re-release! Unbelievable to get a Yoshimura record for a decent price. Truly one of the most impressive new age / ambient composer of all time, never too much, never too kitsch. Thank you so much, great pressing, great cover, great music.
