This is a great compilation, like that friend who has a better record collection and deeper knowledge and range of music in his or her listening pallette.
The Light 3000 was brand new to me and closes this compilation ('mix' only if loosely imagined) perfectly. -
Edited 4 months agoThe CD version of this is off the hook, and the vinyl is best-of-collection in of mastering/pressing. SuPERB. And the track selection btw - it's not even all techno. LX shares a couple deep cuts I had no idea.

This is a great comp. And how interesting to see, after all these years, that LX shares my appreciation of early Aphex Twin.

Edited 9 years agoI liked this when it came out....and it came out when The Orb were going through a rather patchy period involving various collaborators. Now in 2016, with Thomas Fehlmann firmly established as Alex Paterson's No.2, we are enjoying something of a silver era for The Orb. I have gone back to this CD, which features a number of BADORB releases and a fair bit of input from Fehlmann - have to say.....mighty impressed. This has aged very well indeed - very nicely constructed "After Hours" set which transcends soul, grooves, chill, funk and techno. Recommended!
