Notes

Limited to 2000 hand-numbered copies. Booklet contains extensive liner notes for each track. Recorded and mixed at Nemo Studios, London, November 1983.

Printed catalog number: OWM-9503/4. Each CD has its separate catalog number etched around the spindle of the CD.

Some tracks do not contain music by Vangelis. Tracks 4, 6, 13 and 16 are traditional shanties that were recorded prior to production for on-set playback. Tracks 11, 12, 14, and 19 are traditional Native American songs and were recorded by the production's sound department while on location.

Track 1-10 appears on the artwork as <I>Burial At Sea / "Land Ho!"</I> and runs for a total duration of 3:14.

Track 1-15 appears only as <I>Forbidden Love</I> on the artwork, but the liner notes give the name of the shanty that is inserted into the track (reflecting what was done on the actual soundtrack as the movie plays). The total duration is 8:45.

Track durations as printed on the artwork are consistently incorrect. Actual track durations taken directly from the CD are listed below.

What an unbelievable crime that this soundtrack was never released as an official, legit CD edition, particularly while Vangelis was still alive. One of his best soundtracks—rightly up there with Blade Runner in his lengthy, versatile canon. No justice in this world.

The track "Saga Of The H.M.S. Bounty is the jewel here, but overall the sound quality is muddy and poor. Believe everything the others say in the comments.

The music of the Bounty is simply amazing! But the sound of this bootleg is beyond terrible! Do not buy this garbage for such a high prices because at the end of the day, this is not an official release, so you are not really buying a real Vangelis album. There are many sellers selling copies of this bootleg on Ebay and those copies are just homemade cdrs. The music is available online in digital format even from better quality sources.

One of the worst unofficial Vangelis albums. Sound quality is complete garbage. It has nothing left above 3kHz and constant rumble in the sound. It completely lacks high . The only track with good sound quality is the first "Main Titles" for it's obviously ripped out of the best of Vangelis collections. The other tracks seem to originate from analog tapes with someone lacking of experience converting those into digital format with quite horrendous results. The music is a collection of soundscapes made for different film scenes. Out of the screen it doesn't make much sense. Many monotonous drum-tracks are included, few electronic compositions and some folk tunes, but unfortunately you can't enjoy any of that for the "worse than AM radio mono-quality". Not even for collectors. 1/5. You should seek out the Asian Worlds release of this soundtrack, or the amateurish reworking of Dominik Ha, which atleast is listenable if not very good. There's also a BluRay disk with the whole soundtrack but it appears to be monophonic. You can find that one on Youtube.
