      Given that it featured a number of songs by the then huge stadium rock band Queen it's a bit odd that Highlander was never treated to an official soundtrack/score release, never mind how highly regarded Michael Kamen was/is as a composer of film scores.

      This album is a bit of a double-edged sword (pun intended); the track information on the inserts are totally erroneous - 99% of them are incorrect. That said, The Complete Original Motion Picture Score is probably the best place to hear all of the unused and previously unavailable cues used (or not, whichever the case may be) on the film. A number of the tracks are of poor quality, apparently due to the condition of the master tapes from which they were taken, some are incidentally, irretrievable.

      Musically though, this set is epic, with sixty tracks and two hours of music to keep you entertained. Michael Kamen's central "Highlander" motif is beautiful and bookended by the pomp of Queen's rockiest numbers ("Princes Of The Universe", "Gimme The Prize") - I'm by no means a fan of Queen's music but their contributions match the film and soundtrack perfectly.
