- DSD mastering is a thing left over from the SACD version. Not possible for normal CD's. Japanese booklets and labels are often copied from previous versions.

- ElectricNation has been spelled like this since the first CD's was released in the US, see: CK 38980
Barcode: 07464389802. Yes that is not right... but this is not typical for this release. Most of them are misspelled LOL!
But the DSD thing is worth checking out since that is not possible for normal CD, even if it were possible, we wouldn't hear it.

I paused before I started this....I did that because I was debating what to really say...I really wanted to give this a positive review...Problem is I am about to FAIL MISERABLY!!!!!

This album to me feels like "Maurice White" FORCED everyone to "Come on, let's make this album"!!!!!

Where "Electric Universe" fails the most to me, is what the group has always striven to do, make incredible music....It feels like the pressure finally caught up to them to fit in, instead of being the standard they became....

I am not going to butcher the whole album, only because there are some nice offerings...

"Magnetic" (even though it was EXTREMELY Electronic), at least sounds focused, even though it didn't do well on the charts....It did still manage to get airplay though...

"Could It Be Right", is a very nice slow jam (and yes a Crown Jewel)....

The only other songs I probably could get with, is "Touch" and "We're Living In Our Own Time" (the message carries this one)....

The rest of the songs are very unfocused to me...It's no wonder why after this the group disbanded for awhile...

This one really HURTS!!!! For those who read my stuff, you know how I feel about this Band!!!!! So for me to really DOG this album wasn't easy...I really STRUGGLED with this (I am not being DRAMATIC!!!!!)...I do own it, because my collection would not be complete without it...Maybe, one day, I will sit down and listen with different ears...I've done it before, and "Earth, Wind & Fire", to me, DESERVES that......

PS: 7/3/2024: A while back, I found an EXPANDED CD Version of "Electric Universe", that "Sony Legacy" released in 2015...It had the following tracks:

Call me CRAZY, but I believe that "Sony Legacy" NEEDS to release this as a 2 LP Vinyl set....

Now, I know that MOST of You Guys are probably saying, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND"?!?!?!?!?!, especially after reading my review...Well, I guess the ONLY thing I can say is I have a TOTAL SOFT SPOT for "Earth, Wind & Fire" to even COME UP with that idea!!!!! What can I say, I'M WIRED DIFFERENTLY!!!!!!!

The bonus tracks on this expanded edition of 'Electric Universe' are worth the price. For some odd reason, 'Powerlight' has yet to be remastered with bonus tracks (etc), and it's a MUCH BETTER project than 'Electric Universe'. Let's hope they also give 'Touch The World' a Deluxe Remaster as well!
