Revisiting the first 3 Kompakt Totals has been a wonderful listening journey.

Total 3 is a lot of fun, and presents some classic stalwarts of Kompakt in highly energized form. Dettinger’s Tranquilizer and Lawrence’s French Fries make up one hell of a side D and Closer Musik’s Departures is phenomenal. The mix of Departures is different from what is found on the Closer musik LP. It’s deeper, grittier and the mastering is super balanced. Lastly, Jürgen Paape’s So Weit Wie Noch Nien is an enduring classic.

Closer Musik ''Departures'' uses the Melody part of Ramin's ''Brainticket'' from 1992.
