My first Autechre album, given to me as a present back in 2003. Never looked back. What a phenomenal pressing too - everything sounds brutal and precise. Sure the repress is great too, the others all are, but if you see a cheap original then it's definitely worth it.

Sounds amazing as other Autechre represses. Didn't have any issues with it whatsoever.

Skips on the intro to "SURRIPERE" but other than that it plays flawlessly. The artwork looks amazing as always (thank you Alex).

came a little scuffed on the discs, they get in locked grooves like a lot, sounds amazing when it spins properly. grab it if you have a good turntable but lower ends will suffer a little (not using a suitcase player btw)

Sound is perfect, sadly disc 1 is warped. Plays ok.

Absolutely no issues with my copy. The AE reissues have all been great so far and this one is no exception, incredible sound!!

One of their best albums. I've seen people describe it as woody sounding, I don't really get that. It's very alien organic to me. Or micro organic, like the soundtrack to microbiological processes in the forest. It's also an album that I can hear many times and still pick out new details due to the amount of depth in the songs. The album art is as great as the music.

Always found the run from Confield onwards completely confounding and indecipherable back when I started getting into Ae, Oversteps was possibly their most listenable record for a while when it came out.

Cut to now, thought I'd give this and Confield a relisten before ordering the represses, just to see if I liked what I heard... What a transformation, like a fine wine these records have aged gracefully, they are funky, idiosyncratic and full of beauty.

I actually believe the evolution and quality of speakers/headphones is part of the reason why these records sound much better, if you listen to them on something rubbush, these tracks sound flat and shit, on something decent or hi-end they sound deep, spacious and phenomenal.

Having been an AE fan since the beginning this, at the time was a huge disappointment. I didn't play it for years after a few initial listens on release.
Fast forward to 2019 I gave it another listen and realised it was one of the best things they had produced!
Excellent LP but probably not the best place to start with the catalogue.

The physical quality of the product is very high class with a thick gatefold sleeve and glossy print effects. For the music aspects of it, well it is definitely an electronic music masterpiece for sure & the press reflects this on playback. Get this « cheap » if you dont own it on vinyl as it tends to be cheaper than other autechre releases.
