Out of the gate the Iconic sound that Fear Factory has hits you and surrounds your entire body in an almost euphoric way. Precision, strikes, and elegantly chaotic instrument play along with very to the point no flurry vocals makes a very clean album. The cleans the vocalist does also compliments the album in a way that most Industrial bands seem to lack. The band is cookie cutter as they say but they are the ones who invented it in my opinion. The band sounds amazing, whether its in the past present or future! Check out more of my reviews on Instagram via https://www.instagram.com/generationmetalreviews/ -

The double LP version has a much better dynamic sounding master than the CD/digital release. All of the instruments and Burtons' vocals has much more definition and improved sound stage, versus the rather brickwalled CD/digital master. Get the double LP if you want the best sounding version of Genexus.

I've been listening to Fear Factory for a long, long time. Demanufacture is my favorite work of theirs. Most would agree. Occasionally over the years, Fear Factory got sucked into the nu-metal vacuum, and often suffered from trying to make their brand of mechanical cyber metal more accessible. When they get back to their more hard-edged roots, they are still capable of churning out vicious and futuristic metal. Genexus is just that - futuristic cyber metal. Rhys Fulber (of Front line Assembly) lends his electronic and machine samples, but this time the mix actually makes them shine. This acceptance and incorporation of electronic textures has been one of Fear Factory's most unique qualities. This is their best sounding work. Mixed loud, detailed, and full of body. Every detail can be heard on this record. Thematically, they stick to their man-becomes-machine mythology. No surprises there. Perhaps the most improved aspect of their sound has been Burton C. Bell's vocals. He switches between a strong-throated, pitched roar and the most accessible of melodic, cleanly sung choruses. The contrast between the two vocal styles works better than it ever has. I dare you to try and listen to 'Regenerate' and resist the urge to sing along. Overall, this is the best Fear Factory release since Demanufacture. Sometimes the tried and true formula the band uses can make songs sound a bit too similarly. That is leveraged by the fact that this formula is now science. They created a unique, often copied sound and they are the masters of exploring every dimension it spans. -
