The holy grail of RDJ material but cuckoo ruins this album, better left to just on AB4, except for that it's stellar start to finish.

Track 4 is worth owning this for alone. No one else makes stuff so original and well rounded. Break driven with a deep bass punch and an influential 'grimy' pipe sound, all along with Aphexs' trademark synth. Easily the best track here.

I found a placeholder/marked sleeve of this in Disc Union in Osaka, Japan. I was overjoyed to find it only to then discover that someone had replaced the vinyl with something else. The person who swapped it obviously knew its worth.

Aphex doesn't deserve such disservice, though it is most likely he who is responsible this hasn't been officially released. Props for the utterly lame cover artwork - it perfectly matches this lame release. Smells like teen ... -ager with daddy's dough. Should've been watching Disney movies instead.

Finally got round to ripping this tape -
Its AB5, but mine has the tracklisting a little muddled compared to the vinyl:
1. A1
2. A2
3. A3
4. B1
5. A5
6. A4
7. B2
8. B3
No Cuckoo
There's also an odd low quality snippet of a track right at the end of the tape.
Drill and bassy, but i don't think its AFX. Tape has some sticker residue on it, so i guess it's whatever was on the tape before it was recycled for this. -
Note: there are 2 versions of the album. The original 90s version that was leaked to the internet (I had the mp3s of it in 1996) and the altered 2005 version. Ignoring the removal of the swirling noise (which I always thought was a flange effect that was an intended part of the album) track one has new (annoying) musical elements in it. Just one drum, but it really ruins the song. I haven't been able to find differences in any of the other tracks but I couldn't swear to them being exactly the same. And yes, the closing track (cuckoo) is EXACTLY like the AB4 version.

The first track is mesmerising. The rest is pretty boring. Really not worth the price tag. And if you really need this record, go check the unofficial Analogue Bubblebath 1-5 bootleg. It's all on there for less money.

The music is good, but the bootleg is of dubious quality. The tapes seem to be produced by several different people, each with varying degrees of quality. Mine has both sides A and B of AB5, however, it is missing the final track "Cuckoo". My artwork is in black and white with a checkerboard pattern. The recording quality is pretty low (even for a cassette).
