This album demonstrates how Snap! were ahead of their game. Sure - it was a commercial flop, but you have to hand it to the Snap! boys, they were tinkering with a formula that they had created and had got them very rich - 'if it ain't broke don't fix it', well, they fixed it. They turned the tempo down and essentially released a pop trance album before trance had commercial appeal. Great to see Niki Harris back for a track too. Such a shame the follow up album was made but never released - would love to hear it! -

Attention!!
Track #3 "Rame (Original Version)" (as written on the back cover) is NOT the version you'll find on the Disc.
The CD contains the version with a track length of 03:54.
The back cover itself shows a track length of 04:35, which is a fairly different version of that track. -

I feel like this album was very inspired by Jam & Spoon. Not just by its focus on female vocals without a rapper during the more dancepop-esque songs, but also on the tracks that lean more into Trance and Ambient. Now WELCOME TO TOMORROW doesn't come close to any of the TRIPOMATIC FAIRYTALES albums, but it is a good listen and has aged better than Snap's more iconic hits, even though it lacks any real party bangers. But if you want something chill yet danceable, you should check it out. -

Altho it's unavoidably pigeonholed within a cheesy genre, this album is replete with quality. The high-octane, featured tracks like The First Last Eternity, Rame, and the title track are all simple, but melodically sublime. It's Not Over is an out-of-place instrumental, techy eurohouse jam worthy of a look. There's a charm about this album. Even a few of the sleepier tracks have grown on me through the years. IMO this version of Rame is way better than the other versions featured on the single releases. -

The third album by Snap has also been not a bad output. Personally I feel that the album got a little too soft, dreamy and even slightly esoteric/spiritual at times. And why have many tracks such a long name included with brackets? Was it very "hip" at the time? Not that it has anything to do with musical quality, but still a little weird. Despite these criticisms, it is by no means a bad album and just prooved that the guys behind this project had lots of talent. In my ranking it ranks behind Man's Return, which I regard as the masterpiece of Snap, still the rating is the same for me.
After this album the Snap project basically was dead except few unsuccessful releases and tons of compilations/greatest hits. Really no idea why though as they never stopped the Snap project and were always able to change their sound. They might get enough royalties from The Power, so they don't put too much effort in creating new tracks? I really don't know. Anyway, on to the
Track by Track Review
Green Grass Grows (Earth Follows): Sweet and soft opener that is presenting the majority sound of the album - very cautious and discreet. It's not a bad track, but does not fully convince me melodically. 3.5/5
It's A Miracle (People Need To Love One Another): Starts with a breakbeat just like in the old days, but then come in the typical soft pads on this album. The baby voice would not necessarily have to be, but for Mr. Münzing it was probably quite fun to pack his daughter on the album. Thematically kinda fits, so it is ok. Song is not bad, maybe a little much-gooders mood, but fairly decent singing by "Summer". 4/5
Rame (Beloved): One of the few songs on the album, where you finally get a nice driving beat. Trancy synth sounds and these oriental voice sounds rather unusual for Snap, but I like the song a lot. 4.5/5
Dream On The Moon: Chillout track with rather precipitated rhythm. Harmonics and melody I like very much on this track. The vocal interjections fit well too. For me personally a highlight on the album. 4.5/5
Welcome To Tomorrow (Are You Ready): Despite the high BPM amazingly gentle in sound. The song has something very encouraging and I like it. Even though I prefer other singles by Snap it was still a really strong song. 4.5/5
The World In My Hands (We Are One): The hook line with the vocal snippets is quite strong and memorable, but unfortunately the rest of the song has got a little soporific. 3.5/5
The First The Last Eternity (Till The End): The second major hit of the album, very melodic and tender, although the speed is quite high. Trancy gate synths and a subtle rhythm reminds strongly of Welcome To Tomorrow. 4/5
Waves: Ambient track on the album. Is listenable, quite relaxing. But I am satisfied listening to it just once in a while. 3.5/5
Where Are The Boys, Where Are The Girls: Again very relaxing Dance Track, this time with Vocals contributed by Niki Haris. One of my personal highlights on the album. Writers of the track might have been friends with Anzilotti ? (Just a guess, 2 of them are italian producers) 4.5/5
It's Not Over: The main theme of the song can be either hypnotic or irritating. The song includes a similar sound that was used in Exterminate (example at 1:17), later also a reprise of the melody of EX-Terminator (also known as "Exterminate Album Version"). The beat is pretty good, the rest depends a bit on my mood. 3.5/5 -

With "Welcome To Tomorrow", Snap! logically followed the eurotechno wave they mostly contributed to with their massive 1992 hit "Rhythm Is A Dancer". Radically futuristic, the (superb) artwork of the CD booklet helped to define their new identity, as well as the videos of "Welcome To Tomorrow" and "World In My Hands", beautifully computer generated.
The first single, "Welcome To Tomorrow" didn't repeated the success of "Rhythm Is A Dancer" or "The Power". It was a small hit that wasn't well received in North America, probably because of the high BPM. However, Snap! delivered a good album with tracks like "Rame" (later released as their last single, in a new remixed version), "The First/Last Eternity", "Dream On The Moon", "Waves" (an excursion into ambient) and "It's Not Over".
The rest of the story is quite surprising. After the release of 2 compilations and a few years of silence, Snap! tried to return to a more poppy sound with a new single called "Gimme A Thrill", which turned out to be a major flop. A whole album was supposed to be released but finally, it was trashed. Since then, their songs have been remixed, re-remixed, re-re-remixed... and that's about it. Tragic end, isn't it?
