Stunning CD. Fluke started as a house and synthpop band with the EP "The Techno Rose Of Blighty", which ironically is not really techno. They kept a bit of this spirit in this follow-up "Six Wheels On My Wagon", when you can enjoy it with the cute sounds of "Groovy Feeling", the soothing "Oh Yeah" and the bagner "Electric Guitar". However, several songs offer a more matured, sometimes darker progressive pattern. The Underworld sounding "Love Letters", the tribal sounding of "Glidub" and the Aphex Twin vibes of "Spacey" are such examples.

After this album, Fluke will stop using this early 90's festive synthpop influence, and also reducing the amount of vocals in their compositions. For instance, their follow-up "Oto" is the total opposite of "Techno Rose Of Blighty", featuring a more serious atmosphere. And the Brits will switch to progressive house and big beat for good with "Risotto" and "Puppy".

"Top Of The World" has one of the funkiest electronic loops ever. Listen to the background of this tune, starting at the first minute, it matches very wel with the beats. It sounds even more incredible when played live, check out the Justin Credible YouTube channel to find such gems.

For a 1993 LP, it still sounds really fresh. Just like "Dubnobasswithmyhean" which came out in the same period.

Masterpiece! I am a producer and in this album there is some absurdity ... disc somewhat underestimated but in my opinion in the future it will be reevaluated a lot !!! A white fly between the various records I have.

Along with Underworld, Harthouse and Guerilla Records these were undoubtedly my favourite popular electronic acts of the early '90's. They always had a funkier more accessible sound but they were far more 'sonic' than the others with lot's of movement and spacey effects rather than innovative, clever or rebellious technological tricks.
Overall they produced songs and this album contains some of the best.

Bought this in a $3 bin at a local record store in Minneapolis...this is dope as fuck, and a quality pressing that plays amazing on my hi-fi system. Very rich sound, deep, and alive.

I've heard this album just a few years ago, in 2008 to be exactly, after i bought it. I was quite stunned when i found out that the album was made in 1993. Quality-wise it was well-ahead of it's time. A few years later, the 'Fluke'-sound was very common in the British Dancemusic, inspiring acts such as The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield and even Orbital. Most tracks on it are of an uplifting nature, and most have a common, recognizable percussion but are varied enough to keep the listener interested. Personal favorites include Groovy Feeling (Make mine a 99), ♥ Letters, Top of the World, Oh Yeah. It is a highly recommended album if you're a fan of British Dancemusic, which the 90's spawned in such a great way.
