Ministry – The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste

Picked this up and has been in constant rotation. Compared with the latest limited edition Sire 2xLP releases of Twitch and LoRH, the two latter releases sound much louder and fuller. When I spin on of those after playing this one they are considerably louder. However that doesn’t say that this release sounds bad; it has a much more refined and multidimensional sound than the digital, such as in the qunty Cannibal Song, it sounds so crisp and snappy in the front with the different textures falling into the background such as the crows cawing and the dreamy saxophone. I do agree with one of the reviews about side 2 feeling a bit crammed; inshallah this album gets the same treatment Sire has been giving the other Ministry releases. The artwork is beautifully printed but paper stock is thin; vinyl is pristine and comes in a plastic protective sleeve. I’m definitely open to picking up other MOV releases too; recommended!

This thing EXPLODES out of the speakers. Incredible AAA pressing. Only previously familiar with the digital version and this slab of wax left me shocked. The separation in all the action is wonderful, so much happening but so clear and detailed

Sound quality is very good on this. Kick drums are nice and punchy and everything is very clear and precise. My copy has a few clicks and pops here and there, but doesn't ruin the listening experience. Might give it another go in the ultrasonic cleaner. Great album to pick up if you can get a clean copy.

So this 'remastered' reissue now includes the ninth track (Dream Song) which was only present on the CD versions? This thus takes the running time of the LP to somewhat longer than which can fit on a single vinyl disc without compromising SQ? How does the fidelity of this pressing come across like (I only have the 1989 original vinyl UK version, which also came with a plain white - not printed - inner sleeve unfortunately.) ?

My copy is whisper quiet - number 224. No playback issues either.

I seem to have this copy, but the matrix / runout reads '1 26004-2 SRC=01', which matches a runout on the original CD? (https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/39626-Ministry-The-Mind-Is-A-Terrible-Thing-To-Taste)

Can anyone tell me if this is remastered or just a reissue?
