OMD* – Souvenir

souvenir is one of the best songs ever...that's all I came here to say

I see the time for the US 7" is 3:08, quite a bit shorter than on the European 7". 1981 was too early for remixes, I assume it is an edit. Can anybody who has it describe it, please? What was edited out?

Only Sacred Heart on my copy of this one, although Motion & Heart is mentioned on the label. Don't know if this version exists with the 2 songs on the B-side?

I have what appears to be a copy of "Souvenir"/"Motion and heart"/"Sacred heart" (cover and labels but is actually "Messages"/"Taking sides again".

I timed 'Souvenir (Extended)' around 4:03, and timed 'Motion And Heart (Amazon Version)' at 3:05, although a little tricky due to fade in and fade outs.

Greek factory managed the unimaginable. B Side plays too fast on 45 rpm and too slow on 33 rpm, so the voice sounds hilariously distorted. Obviously the geniuses behind this huge error didn't notice from the very beginning as I have the test pressing that is just as faulty, sounds the same. So this is a very rare version indeed!

B2 listed as going for 8.32 minutes?? On a 7"?

For my opinion and taste this one is the best OMD release,and also i like very much the two other Italo Disco Remakes of this OMD release,
Saxophone - Souvenir (Fuori Di Testi – FDT 009 1984)
and,
Nicky & Nicky - Souvenir (Lombardoni Publishings) – MIX 003 1985,

and for me the other two Italo Disco releases are much better than the original from OMD.
And every Italo Disco collector , i think , have this 3 releases in his pvt.collection like me :) to compare it ;)
