Kate Bush – The Sensual World

Reviewing every record in my collection;

I think this pressing sounds as good as it can. The Sensual World's original master sounds terrible, it's not fault of the vinyl but rather of the poor quality Mastering of back in the day (The European Cd I own sounds even worse) leaving that aside, The pressing has, all in all, a good balanced sound for what it is, but sadly Kate's voice and the instruments tend to get mixed up to the point its hard to distinguish what you're listening to, which is really Sad since the album itself is a masterpiece. Maybe the Remaster sounds better? I don't know, but this is a "Serviceable" record all things considered.

I have a hard time understanding why this album isn't one of Kate Bush's more revered albums, especially in the progressive universe. an amazingly beautiful and diverse album and offers some of her most memorable songs

This one is the banger! If you find one cheap do not hesitate. Especially the sensual world and heads we are dancing are fantastic.

I don’t know why this has such a low rating as the pressing sounds awesome. Huge soundstage, crisp highs and deep bass and no problems that aren’t here due to the age of my vinyl (not a lot of care has been taken of it).

Finally I received all the editions. No need to ban me, I can provide samples from each album. I'm very disappointed. The kick inside - the first side is quiet, the second side clicks. lion - no noise. never - impossible to listen, everything makes noise and clicks, ordered twice. Hounds - both my friend and I have clicks and crackles that are impossible to listen to. Sensual - everything is very bad, terrible crash. 50 words - moderate crackling throughout the lp. Red Shoes is very noisy. I regret that I ordered all this. Yes, it’s true that the publications are beautiful. But the quality of the press is bad.

Of the two I have (this and Hounds of Love), I’d say this one sounds just slightly worse. Both are absolutely fantastic pressings, but I was noticing some slight sibilance on a few tracks on this record. However, this pressing plays quieter than Hounds of Love. My copy did come with a scratch on This Woman’s Work that causes some ticking but other than that, dead quiet throughout all of playback.

Very Happy with this press. Much better than the Australian 1st pres I had--Less brittle, more robust and full. I love these KB remaster series. I have them all, and happy with them all.

Very bad press. Clicks all over the lp. It's impossible to listen to this. I ordered it twice. This publication is poorly printed and very noisy.

I've got them all but her first three, and I have all four of Kate's 2018 box sets. Those sets were pressed at Optimal and suffered the usual indignities of that presser-- warps, excessive surface noise, and even non-fill on a couple of them. Pity as the remastering was about as good as it gets on those sets. So I'm happy to say that not only are these pressings far superior, they're also very beautiful. Record Industry makes a consistently better pressing than Optimal and it's been this way for many years running now. I also have the Analog Productions release which I've always found rather unremarkable. This is THE version to get if you love this album. Since some have mentioned the inner sleeve being less than ideal, it should not matter as any new record should be cleaned and resleeved before playing, if you're concerned about pressing and playback quality.
