I clearly playing this at the 1993 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. The second the main riff kicked in, it was like a of wave of love and euphoria sweeping over you. Timeless classic from a truly great period of dance music. Pressing is on the noisy side - even in NM condition, but the mastering is fantastic and has plenty of depth.

RDJ in the catalogue numbers [12RDJ 6302] would stand for DJ copy. There's no indication on the labels, but this is likely promo copy.

Fantastic 12 from K-Klass, yes it has the original version of "Rhythm Is A Mystery" which has an amazing deep bassline plus most of the elements that made the remix such a big track. But there's far more on this 12" "Pianone" is a lovely piano driven house track, with some big hooks & is quite uplifting in the way that it evolves layered with strings in the right areas just to give it that extra lift. Flip to the B side & there's a change of direction with "I.V.B.M." being more Bleep based, with its deep basslines, soaring string, synths & Bleeps again another great track. Finally there's "Dream" a more Belgium Techno influenced track with a hypnotic vibe to start, dropping into panpipes in the breakdown with spoken female vocal, then kicks back in with a full on tougher more energetic vibe through the synth riff - really nice step change, fantastic track that had plenty of . I used to love this type of release where you got a mix of styles which real showcased what the artists were capable of & were less pigeonholed as the scene was still rapidly growing a developing, a very exciting time with a lot of happy memories.

Really nice 12" which contains the original version of what become a huge track through its remix from "Matthew Roberts" that use to destroy many a dance floor "Rhythm Is A Mystery". On here the "Original Mix" doesn't disappoint with its deep rumbling bassline, piano & vocals, but the other tracks on here are also worth checking out, from the piano groove of "Pianone" or the Bleep influenced "I.V.B.M." too "Dreams" which is a mix of more of a chilled techno influence in parts but drops into a more driving synth in parts giving at more of Belgium techno feel. Really great E.P. & one for any old school fans collection.

I couldn't agree more when I heard the track "Dream" on SCR radio station in Sheffield back in 1991 I went crazy for it as I didn't know what it was called at the Time the DJ just said it was a track that K Klass had wrote especially for him and to this day I have never found a digital copy of it on any CD and I've tried!

I'd hazard a guess at the 'RUMOUR RECORDS' being old middles turned over and stamped onto the new 12's by the pressing plant and the print on the other side coming through. This was often done and can be seen on many white label titles from around the same period.

My friend claims this was used for the opening of an MTV show in the 90s. Is he correct?

The original version on Creed sold around 12,000 copies.

When you have eighteen years, you still believe in many, many things: Love, peace, justice...When i go back to 1993, i bring back my memories and see the diference along the years. So sorry, but times are changin'. This is the beautiful power of music: You can go back to your memories and feels it still fresh. Anyway, this is a essential house track in any collection, where all instruments and Bobbi Depasois vocal make a perfect combination.
