Hi! How can i see if it’s a pressing from Europe or USA?
      Looks the same?

I just bought this set used and I’m amazed there’s no sleeve notes like the CD versions have.

There’s not much I can add to the rivers of ink that have been spilled about Led Zeppelin, their seminal relevance and how, together with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, paved the way to the hard and heavy rock scenes (and beyond) in a way that still resonates more than 50 years after the release of their debut albums.

They were also a breed of musicians that considered stages not as “just” places to replicate their studio works in front of an audience, but as a place to reinvent and reconceive their songs.

As such, a Led Zeppelin gig was a musical trip where pretty much anything could happen, where adlibs could extent for minutes while Plant, Page, Bonham and Jones communicated among themselves and with the audience through their voice and instruments, making these wail, scream, sing and howl in both pain and pleasure, turning 5 minute songs into suites.

Therefore, the band’s BBC live sessions were a very much sought treasure, as people knew that the band’s earlier performances were a legendary precious vault of unleashed energy and raw creativity.
And yet, the first 1997 release of these live recordings- expanded in 2016 with further 8 performances- sured even the more optimistic expectations.
These sessions, recorded during the band’s heyday in 1969 and 1971, are an incredible testimony to the pure genius of four hungry musicians in an unparalleled state of grace and communion, lifting off from their blues grounds and flying over the skies of slight psychedelia and new born hard rock, while they soar not only through their own songs (listen to the priceless 18 minutes of “Dazed And Confused”), but also daring to integrate some blues standards into them, as they do in “Whole Lotta Love” or the deep cut “The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair”.

All in all, these are essential releases to any serious music collection, and a remembrance of a time where ion, instinct and true musicianship were considered and highly regarded as vital to popular music.

This was slightly odd CD purchase for me: I purchased (2016), put in my cd case, and in 2024 realized I'd never listened to it - so unsealed it and fantastic, with one caveat, the geniuses at Atlantic had no separation for the middle sleeve of trifold between the nice booklet and the underside of the cd so that something from the ink bled onto the cd surface - it was all cloudy. I discovered this when it started skipping/going crazy. Luckily, it appears to have cleaned off okay, but recommend you separate the booklet from the cd. I've heard tales of the Mothership LPs having similar issue, but probably different chemical reaction.

10 stars in my opinion. This box set is amazing. Amazing sound, amazing mastering. I can’t believe how good it sounds, so clean and clear. Kudos to John Peel and Jimmy Page!

Bought my copy from Deep Discount on 5/5/23. Received 5/12/23. Well packaged. Records come inside of polylined inners with each having its own jacket and artwork. A 12" insert of the cover artwork is included with the # / 30000. Mine is #3888.
