The epitome of beep boop music. Absolute banger. Vinyl sounds pretty good too

Doesn’t sound bad at all, my copy is pretty worn but is able to sound so bright and sharp I love it. I wish the drums were a little snappy but they still get the job done.

Unbelievable. Pressing quality is top tier, as is Bob Ludwig's mastering job on this absolute classic. Not to mention, it's more affordable than a lot of Japanese import remastered reissues are. 10/10, grab it if you see it.

Entry title is incorrect. This is not a "repress" of the original/1979 UK issue. That release has matrices A1 and B1. This 1980 pressing has new matrices A-2 and B-2, meaning new lacquers were cut, thus this release is actually a reissue/remaster.

A SH forum Paul Rymer testifies that the newer cut betters the original UK pressing.

I can't even tell you how many times I've heard this album, but listening to this pressing today felt like hearing it for the first time. Total clarity, lots of punch, and the textures are to die for. I don't have an original pressing to compare this to, but this is fantastic.

Really nice remaster with good dynamics. The indexing here is better than most of the Japanese CDs - you get a clean intro for "Firecracker", and "Mad Pierrot" starts with the drum break as on the US single edit. The only downside to this version is the poor colour balance on the artwork, which all looks a bit over-saturated.

Very good mixing! No peaking, very natual sound without excessive bass. Very fun to listen to and worth picking up! - that might be the YMO itself though :)

The first Japanese release, with the different sleeve, is also amazing, and i think even better than this one (more sweet, less punchy, but with a wonderful alternative production by Hosono)
