Brilliant record from start to finish. They had roots in New York "no wave" and the skronk noise chaos is there, but at the core this is just a collection of damn good songs; melodies, hooks, sophisticated arrangements, broad dynamics, pissed off political personal funny lyrics, everything in perfect balance. -
Did you know if this one sounds better than previous Cleopatra's reissue? -

This is the "What's Going On" of nineties noise rock. It might tell you at one point it's got no soul but it's actually got whole lot of soul. A damaged and angry and contemptous but ultimately empathic and gentle soul. -

I take back what I said about it only coming out of one channel...it is not THAT flat, but feel like it got no soul.

Anyone else notice that the record sounds particularly quiet and there is virtually no low-end? I had to max out the volume on my amp and crank the bass just to make it sound 'normal'. I compared this limited version to my original Interscope copy and there is a noticeable difference between the two, not necessarily in a good way.
