Great box set. One oddity is that this was recorded live at Nassau Coliseum here on Long Island (where I'm from). But in the booklet they don't have ticket stubs from THIS show. They have ticket stubs printed from overseas shows. LOST OPPORTUNITY here if you ask me. They should have shown ticket stubs from this ACTUAL show

Haha, I never noticed the typo ("perormances") on my copy.

Good sounding rip from the VHS (or Laserdisc), the only defect I've noticed is a "skip" in One Of These Days - and I only caught that one because I tried syncing it to the version from the live album.

Here is the update since July 2024. I wrote a poor review to this pressing and two other replied that their copies are great and I believe them. In fact, that was my anticipation when I purchased mine. Long story shorts, I now have a US pressing from the same year and the difference in quality is just obvious and US pressing is way better. Maybe I did get a poor copy but aside from the surface noise (which is way less in US copy), the US pressing just sounds better. I know that "more dynamic, better sound stage" etc. are subjective words but that's what I would use comparing both version. My UK pressing sounds flat and boring as compared to the US one. Maybe I got some sort of counterfeit copy of this album, however everything checks up on the record and the sleeve.

My biggest complaint is why they didn't use the iconic cover of the original release. The lightbulb guy in front of the pigeon guy is just legendary!! A shame they have switched to this very boring new cover design.

To me the sq and pressings are quite good though.

Side B sounds like a badly ripped MP3. The ret of the sides sound fine, IMHO.

It looks like I have this release., but I am not sure. Discs EQ 5009 (Made in UK), Cover 7 91480 1 (Printed in Holland with all the europe specific identifiers). Anyone else has this release in this combination?

This is really a phenomenal pressing. Superior dynamics, dead dark and very low noise floor, flat clean vinyl, I think I heard 1 minor tick straight out of the poly-lined sleeve and only touched with a carbon fiber brush. Optimal did a fantastic job! Completely blows away my original CD purchased new upon release, which I always felt was a little muddy. It was cut a little low in amplitude, maybe 4-6 db below most of my other vinyl, probably due to the few sides that are over 25mins. But that is what a volume knob is for.

This is one to get and enjoy loud!

Oh...and mine DID NOT include a card. Are they shipping without cards now? If so, maybe we should edit the description in the "Notes"

This original UK pressing has pretty bad surface noise across all four sides. The records have been cleaned twice and don't show any wear outside but nothing helps. Very disappointing.

some sellers sell them as sealed in thermal film. I officially declare. nonsense. I lived in this country when they were sold. and bought new ones at the store. MELODIA records have never been sealed.
