If you use HDCD they sound greatly improved on. Not bad for 20bits.

I recently bought a copy of this, it was sealed, I opened it, verified the runout/etching and then played it. First side amazing, the b side, the Porter Ricks remix, I was so excited to hear it on vinyl because of the rave reviews, to my absolute disappointment there were several concentric rings in line with the playing surface and nearly undetectable when looking for marks or scratches. They jolted the needed so hard and the sounds were god awful, I'm am almost sure it's a pressing issue,, I hope anyone else who has this doesn't encounter the same issue.

so, i'm holding my copy in my hand. what on the disc or the packaging indicates that this is an HDCD?

everything matches the details above, but there is nothing on the disc, or cover to indicate that this is HDCD. what am i missing?

I have this on CD so my vinyl copy is sealed for now. Great tracks. Love nin remixes. Well worth owning.

Great remixes and album version song. This can still be found factory sealed. Great addition to any NIN fans collection.

My copy has a piece of the label against the side of the run-out, so it scratches against it everytime.

                Fun.

Released as the lead single to NIN's third full length album 'The Fragile' in 1999, I this 12" of TDTWWA being hard to find at the time!
This 12" single includes the original mix of TDTWWA as also found on the CD single. (Side note: Reznor re-recorded the vocals for the album version and the vinyl mix of the album is an extended mix which is about a minute longer.).
Also included is the glorious (Quiet) remix of TDTWWA and the heavy-weight Porter Ricks remix of TDTWWA.

The title track is a grower. I it not being a massive fan when I first heard it back in 1999, but my opinion has softened over the years. It is a complex piece of music that requires repeated listens and thoughful digestion.
The two remixes found on this 12" are wonderful companion pieces that are so different from the source material that it is possible to listen to both sides of the disc without getting bored by repeated themes or lyrics.

The quality of the vinyl is superb. My copy is a bit dirty (nothing a clean wouldn't fix) but the sound is deep and rich. TDTWWA sounds so much clearer and crisper than my CD copy. It is as if I am hearing it for the first time when I listen to it.
The remixes sound great but it is the deep, pounding bass of the Porter Ricks remix that stands out on vinyl. Very nice indeed.

This is a great addition to any vinyl collection but especially a NiN one! The beautiful artwork on the cover is given space to breathe at twelve inches too. I would recommend getting it if only to hear the title track in glorious analogue! It makes me want to shell out for a vinyl copy of the LP...

This is a minimal preview for what was to come from The Fragile. This CD never left my player until the album saw release. The actual album proved to be far more than this single could even foreshadow, blowing everything out of proportion. Many push this single aside, however the ones with good ears will hear that the versions of TDTWWA and Starfuckers, inc. are different than the album versions. The title track has a different vocal track and small musical differences, and SF has a small outro not found on the album. The quiet version is a brand new arrangement of the song using mostly piano and acoustic instruments. If you have the vinyl, you will find the trance/ambient version by Porter Ricks. 4/5
