Great compilation by Blue Room. At least half of the tracks are absolutely amazing. and I'm sure, that if your mind is closed to anything but MFG style swirling melodies, this will not be for you. However, this release is deeply psychedelic and highly recommended.

This is a different animal right here. In 1997 when layered melodic goa was all the rage with artists like MFG and Etnica Blue Room comes out with this release that expanded the map of what goa trance could be. This album seems like it belongs in 1998 or 1999 where goa decided to dance with the minimal movement. Progressive Goa Trance? Is that a thing? Is it goa trance if it just has a 303 in it?

Unanswered questions. This release is delivers 2 CDs of well produced music from some very recognizable names. As mentioned it's a different type of goa trance. Long stretches of the same phrases yet the clarity of the sounds and basses that lurk underneath are impressive. That said there is a reason I look upon the minimal subgenre unfavorably.

It's boring. There is zero evolution throughout the track.

And really this is no exception. A single CD of eyelid closing material is bad enough.

        But two? .

Is this compilation 2CD to be considered "long-forgotten" or "obscure"? After 20 years later, this excellent anthology of forward-looking electronica tracks continues to surprise and satisfy!

I was familiar with only JUNO REACTOR (Ben Watkins: BRILLIANT, EMPTY QUARTER, FLOWERPOT MEN, YOUTH & BEN WATKINS, etc.) but I was unprepared for the healthy offerings of high-calibre techno trance tracks by the other names previously unknown to me.

The museum-like posed Roland SH101 pictured on the cover should be a dead giveaway as to what's in store within for the listener: futuristic driving and imaginative electronic music that is inspirational and hard to fault. Tracks run the gamut from atmospheric trance to acid-based techno; even bordering on what would later be termed "electro industrial" by 2005. Something for everybody, definitely.

TWO CDs that leave you wanting more; try to scare up all the original releases by each and every band on this anthology-- maybe close to impossible nowadays; certainly wallet-breaking at current collectors' rates. Buy this 2CD now while undervalued; great prices for diehard miners of gold!
