Felt – The Strange Idols Pattern And Other Short Stories

I was really into early R.E.M. in 1984 and a friend who worked at record shop suggested this. I still cherish this record. Hard to believe it is 40 years old this year.

I like the sound of this reissue, people have reported different things and whatnot and I get that but this sounds very nice and clean with a soundstage present, haha, some of this early Felt feels like it's hard to call it a soundstage. But anyway yes, a great addition!

all of the new Felt remasters, on CD at least, are much too compressed, in my opinion. makes the music sound dull.

The sheer beauty of tracks like "Spanish house" and "Sunlight Bathed the Golden Glow" is both revelatory and cathartic! This is such an incredible album! Best re-issue ever!

Sounds brilliant, but be prepared for the flimsiest sleeve/"gatefold" you've encountered.

Nevermind the crappy gatefold, these reissues sound brilliant. I don't think Lawrence and Deebank's tunes have ever sounded better. Full stop.

I'm confused. On the Cherry Red site it has them as gatefold covers but the one I just picked up at Amoeba here in the states isn't gatefold. Does anyone know what's up?
