This has always been one of my favourite tracks of this album, and it was great to hear input from Björk whom I'd been aware of for a few years. No idea as to the purpose behind these"remixes", which I'm hearing now for the first time. And also the last time. -

808091 (Live) is actually a live version of Donkey Doctor, not 808080808 as the title might suggest. -

The only House track on this is probably Ski Family which has some Acid House or Deep House in it.
In 808091 you will find one of the very early Break Bit productions.
Timeless produced, it fits to topical Break Bit and Jungle stuff.
Ooops is more a Trip Hop and IDM sounding track where 808 State worked together with Bjork.
For my satisfaction it must have been 3 minutes longer, but it's very well produced.
808091 is the best one. Ooops is good but i don't like Ski Familiy very much. -

I had this to say about it in 2001: Tommy Boy compiled the UK singles and added an Eric Kupper remix for this, the US edition of the first official single from ex:el. The remixes leave much to be desired, but the relatively complex B-side "Ski Family" is the gem here, recapturing the accidental beauty that made Quadrastate so enjoyable. -

Superb Manchester/Reykjavik collaboration sees diminutive black-belt pop princess Bjork feature with her enchanting voice. Excellent early 90s ambient material.
