I don’t get how this has never been repressed, it’s such a killer set of hits, it really is. I’m glad I didn’t spend a fortune on my copy.

Just dug my double LP out and was pleasantly surprised by the sound having read the previous review here. Yep, I agree it does sound fairly compressed, but no worse than the original singles, and these aren't exactly audiophile recordings. I didn't hear any distortion aside from some slight sibilance here and there, though I do have a few pops at the start of No Regrets - not sure if that's what the writer below had too? Overall though the songs have excellent separation and resolution at the top end - in particular the early tracks sound surprisingly good, though there isn't loads of bass anywhere. Oddly the thinnest sounding tracks are the two new recordings. (Stylus: ortofon 2m bronze.)

From memory I bought this around time of release and wasn't very happy with sound quality so played it once and it got shelved. Pulled it out today to see if it was as bad as I ed, unfortunately this vinyl pressing https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/Robbie-Williams-Greatest-Hits/release/1800552 sounds pretty distorted and harsh and there's some terrible scuffing sounds on No Regrets Obviously pressed too loud from the digital source, scuffing sounds must be a flaw in pressing too. It's still listenable but could've been so much better. Then again I might've just got a flawed copy.
