referencing Kill The Musicians Vol. 1 (LP, Album, Compilation, Repress, Stereo, Green - Corrected Pressing) MON-125
Could someone please weigh-in as to whether this pressing is an improvement over the first? Did they re-master side A to remove the 'noise'? I've gotten word from a seller that it still doesn't sound like the original release, but I'd love some from the community before I take the plunge. Thanks in advance. -
Side A is noisy as hell. Just got this e-mail from Recess:
>To everyone who ordered Screeching Weasel - KTM. We are aware of a sound quality issue on side 1 of KTM Vol.1. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We are working with the manufacturer on a resolution.
>At this time, we are expecting to ship replacements to all of you at a later date and we'll reach out as soon as we know when we can expect them at our warehouse. We understand this is very frustrating and wish we had more news to offer. It has been beyond stressful. In the meantime, thank you so much for your patience and we look forward to making this right. -
Side 1 sounds like crap. I received an e-mail from the band addressing it. The record will be repressed and replaced for free. Looking forward to the replacement. Lots of great songs here. Side 2 sounds great. -

Wrote to Recess about the issues with Side 1 of vol. 1 - they are aware of the issue and will be sending out replacements at some point. An email should be forthcoming from the Weasel camp addressing this.
It's a crap situation, but seems like Todd at Recess is trying to make it right. -
Let me begin this complaint by stating this: I’ve never met anyone that’s a bigger Screeching Weasel fan than me. I’ve also been a vocal er of Ben through all his controversies and I have nothing but respect for him. Now with that out of the way, I would think a record that set me back $70 would have more to offer. There’s no additional packaging besides what you see in the picture. The original CD on Lookout had a really nice biography about the band and cool photos. This feels more like a bootleg. And to make matters worse this record sounds like shit. I keep getting up to check if my needle is caked in dust. Nope, it just sounds like that. I emailed Recess about it, I doubt they’ll do anything.
Sorry, Weasel, I’m pretty underwhelmed. -
