xPropaganda – The Heart Is Strange

Had this on CD for two years. Bought the vinyl copy this week (along with the limited edition remix LP). Sat here opposite my speakers with a glass of red wine. The sound is more unified, frequencies in balance, whole experience is better. As for the pressing, I wash any new or used vinyl I add to the collection and I recommend doing it before judging quality. Mine is pristine from start to finish including the long quiet outro of the last nine-minute track. Conclusion: great pressing, well worth it!

I could say ramble on about the music, the concepts, the lyrics, the performances...but that would be indulgent. The CD will be listed on Ebay very shortly. Nuff said!!

I was hoping for better on this one. Agree with some of the other comments. Mine arrived and it was really dirty. Full wet and dry clean before playing. No clicks and pops but its not a quiet pressing. I was expecting more punch but agree with others it’s lacking and sounds compressed except the spoken voice parts. Sibilance is okay on mine. Waiting for my CD copy to arrive to compare.

Stephen Lipson is a fantastic producer. Probably as good as Trevor Horn now. Perfect pop, with an edge

Think I paid less than 10 quid for this edition from Amazon. The instrumental mixes are worth having. The mix is outstanding

My favorite album of 2022, here's hoping there'll be more from them in the near future.

One of the best albums I brought in 2022. So good, I got the black vinyl pressing. And the double-CD

...MIxed emotions... It could have been the best album of the year... But, I find the picked out tracks to be the weakests so don't you take them as a real showcase, because there's a lot more depth, drama, musicality on the album. All seems to be cristal clean but it's a disadvantage too, due it sounds all were made on softwares. It would be much more charasteristic to use the good old equipment as we expect anything as such from the classy (X)Propaganda contributors. I do understand the compact handlig nature of the softwares but I think the event of releasing anything from Claudia Brücken's team would worth more attention on details, what a group of vintage harware synths can bring. (See the Propaganda album.). So some of the instrumentation is a bit unsalty, especially the basses, I don't like average solutions as ordinary guitar and drum motivs, the album is very much compressed due the today's tastelessness. Here comes the pros: There are some very good songs with great vocals and nice instrumentations.

The last two tracks on Side A - "Beauty Is Truth" and "Only Human" - are both really sibilant - might be in the actual recordings themselves - but sounds pretty horrible in places

Fantastic album, definitely one of the best this year. The quality of the CD is crystal!

I have 2 copies of the 2 cd set of Xpropaganda the heart is strange and they both only have the instrumental versions and no vocal versions. The distributor Digital Distributors won't do anything about it. Avoid Digital Distributors, they are rip offs and have no customer service.
