This sounds fine to my ears. Mind you I used to own the CD edition back in the day and I had a diabolical tinny little stereo, so I can't truthfully judge if this is an improvement as everything sounds better on my current system. My copy does have a curious anomaly though - the insert is slightly different in that there is no white text on the orange side, just the orange Elvis stencil against a slightly lighter orange background. Anyone else have this? -

Anyone else’s insert only have text on one side? I can see the faint outline of the text on the orange side but you can’t read any of it. -

Is there a remastered 2018 cd version ? I do have the Pure 11LPX remastered clear vinyl and there's no code in it... -

I believe this is a repeat listing of https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/9303645-Stereolab-Peng, as the photo for this release doesn't show a A4-sized printed card insert, but rather a 11 3/4" x 11 3/4" lyrics insert. -
Other people are praising this release but I have to disagree. On many songs the kick drum is so high in the mix it distracts from everything else. I noticed this same effect on one or two of the tracks on Dots and Loops but not not the whole album, so I guess it must be an intentional choice. Maybe it sounds better on different gear. -
Sounds amazing. Hearing the record like I’ve never heard it before. Puts that cursed 2008 pressing to shame. -

For anyone looking for clarification on the various pressings and which seem best to buy in light of past issues this might be of some help:
From Beggars Group -
"Any remaining copies of the clear US pressing were destroyed and should not be available via our direct distributor. If you’re buying a black copy, there should be nothing wrong with it.
The back of the sleeve should have different credits, reflecting the newer remaster, stating re-mastered by Bo at Calyx, Berlin." -
