The 7" on this is surprisingly great. Best part of the set, well, maybe not, its Miles Davis after all, still the 7" is fine.

Edited 10 months agoMusic and vinyl are top notch. Packaging is a bit plain but it does come with polylined sleeves which is a plus. This this is a must have for any fan of the early Miles Davis electric era.

Edited one year agoI buying this CD excited about it ... Then I played it and I thought this is like the Black Beauty recordings ... ( Then I learned Fillmore East West 2 track recordings Bill Graham ... When it starts the sax is so over volumed I was like ahhhhhhhhhhhh and that's about it ....

Edited one year agoThis is a really strong release -- the vinyl have a nice weight, flat, plays silent, sounds right on. My only question is why it wasn't simply released as this -- https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/727484-Miles-Davis-Live-At-The-Fillmore-East-March-7-1970-Its-About-That-Time -- which I already own on CD, but wished to have on vinyl -- I thought the artwork was much stronger. That being said, the etching on side F, along with the single, patch and sticker are all nice touches.
I'm no fan of colored vinyl, but overall, this is a great release. -

Edited one year agoJust received my copy today and have spun the thing a couple of times. I won’t comment at length on the music: this is live and electric Miles - so think Bitches Brew, but on steroids.
My three disks are pretty immaculate other than a couple of noticeable pops on D1, but it’s not egregious and I’ll likely live with it. Otherwise, whisper black backgrounds, and plenty good dynamics. The cymbals shimmer and Miles horn has bite without being shrill. The bass is generally subdued - but consistently so. I’m assuming, therefore, it’s a result of the mastering. The drums are natural and life-like. All in all, it sounds bang on.
The jacket is acceptable - decent quality card, but matte. Not sure how well it will wear.
All in all, this is well done and definitely worth having.
