Not much love for the best track on here 'cordialatron' proper good stuff that should have been on ambient works 2. The most melodic of the tracks on this EP, and one of my favourite tunes of his. I seem to have mislaid my copy somehwere..... -

Absolutely love this EP. Got this back in 1992 and still play it regularly. Immense, timeless techno. The gorgeous, dark Sound of Music sample in Italic Eyeball gets me every time :)

Richard's playing games again. He just recently (nov 2018?) released a digital version (straight from his master tape to a 96khz wav file so we don't get vinyl pops&clicks) of his cover of Popcorn and it's slower than the album version. Not slow enough for "oh you've been playing a 33rpm record at 45, here's the real speed" to make sense. His version is about 39rpm compared to the album (or at least compared to the vinyl rips, I don't have the original vinyl to compare it to).
He did the same thing when he reprinted Hangable Auto Bulb in 2005 but back then I was willing to believe that the reprint was correct and the vinyl rip was from a record player that played slow enough to drop the notes down a few half-steps. After this popcorn release I find myself wanting to track down Hangable Auto Bulb played at the correct speed (the vinyl rips not Richard's untrustworthy CD reprints).
For that matter I now want the vinyl rips of the entire Joyrex series because I no longer trust Compilation to be at the right pitch & speed. -

Italic Eyeball and Joyrex J4 are personal favourites from this EP. Italic Eyeball for its deep, layered, creepy, subliminal, ethereal, electro melancholy - check out the booming TR-808 sequence while you're at it. Joyrex J4 for its evil riffs and dark, stuttering, rolling industrial percussion. Dark, powerful, ferocious techno for the headstrong. -

Italic Eyeball. My ears dropped straight off my head when I first heard it. Amazing. -
