Notes
13th studio album released on May 22nd 1989.
CD issues include three extra tracks ("Hang On In There", "Chinese Torture", and the 12-inch version of "The Invisible Man") that weren't available on the vinyl and cassette editions.
In 1991 the back catalogue was officially on CD/tape in remastered form for the US market (via Hollywood Records and adding a few non-album tracks or remixes not included on the original versions) while Parlophone also re-issued remastered versions in 1993/1994.
Starting 2009, the entire back catalogue of studio albums (now remastered) was re-released again, this time on heavyweight vinyl, while "40th Anniversary" CD versions appeared in 2011 via Island Records.

The release is excellent, sounds amazingly clean, the mass is silent, the stage, depth, frequencies - perfect balance! -
Edited 3 months agoIn my experience, Queen sound generally bad on vinyl, so and so on Qobuz and good on cd; this version is instead top notch and sounds f****g good!
The bonus cd is very interesting and also sound very good (I even prefer some of the original takes to those later released on the album). -

Guys, is the gatefold version of this album rare? My uncle had this version and I never found it anywhere. -

Bonus disc without Scandal 12” mix is ridiculous but you get I Want It All single version instead! -

I have 6 different CD issues of this album!
It’s a digital recording I must add.
1. Original Parlophone UK Swindon
2. Original Capitol USA JAX
3. Hollywood 1991 Eddie Schreyer Remaster
4. Toshiba 2001 Japan Remaster (2004)
5. Island 2011 Bob Ludwig Remaster
6. Deluxe Edition 2022 (2011 Ludwig Remaster)
The original is the best. Clear, good dynamics and pleasant on the ears.
I prefer the Capitol over the Parlophone but it’s only a placebo of the ears!
Hollywood is louder. Harsh and ugly. Not very easy on the ears.
The Toshiba 2001 Japan Remaster is lovely. This is the 2004 mini LP issue. Probably on par with the original 1989 versions. Treble and bass are a bit more pronounced but it’s a delight. The mini LP sleeves and inners are beautiful too.
2011 Ludwig is very loud. Sounds highly compressed. Very bombastic. Punches the ears and feels squishy. It’s like a big stew. The bass, drums and guitar are all meshed together. It sounds more like vinyl. The small details and nuances are higher in the mix.
It’s not a bad job, Ludwig is a legend.
It’s just very loud.
The mix makes the drum machines and sub synths sound dated. Party is a drum box that sounds like a demo!
I like the toughness of this mix but again it’s a bit too much on the ears.
The 2022 is the same as the 2011 Ludwig except for the bonus disc.
I also have the original vinyl, 2015 1/2 speed and 2022, but that’s another story!

sounds awesome!!! I don't have anything to compare it with, but I would go for a copy of this before any of the new reissues -
Edited 8 months agoThe Miracle isn’t my favorite Queen album for two reasons, it’s the first time the band didn’t tour an album and for obvious reasons beyond their control and the production was very sterile. I reluctantly bought the box set just to have it as Queen are one of my favorite bands and I’ve a pretty large and impressive collection on all formats. I even bought this neat 2 CD package and while the album is the 2009 remaster which I’ve heard it’s the Sessions disc that made me realise how good the songs were and how brilliant Queen sounded in the late 80s in the studio as they patched the Miracle together. The sessions use real drums in parts that were later replaced by machines. Freddie’s vocals are still great even on the rejects cuts. It’s a welcome addition to the bands final years.
The boxset is cool but it’s was very expensive and I was annoyed by the lack of notation on dates of the sessions, which for nitpickers like myself is very important! -

As others said below, still available on queen online store and sounds really good for a picture disc - much less surface noise than my recent bowie purchases. A keeper!
