Edited 9 months agoOver time, this has possibly become my favorite later-era Incantation album! Every song is super amazing and stands out. Atmosphere is unmatched and the melodic sections will get in your head and stay there. Unsurprisingly they made yet another modern day death metal masterpiece! Fantastic issue with only a few minor surface noises. I did not think I would like the color of the wax as much as I do!

Incantation is still alive, the world of Death Metal can be calm.
The new record is damn good - it has everything that fans appreciate the band for. It is impossible to accuse these respected gentlemen under the leadership of McEntee of stomping on the spot, over the years the music of Incantation has been presented as if from different points of view. Once again, we have a somewhat rethought creativity in front of us. The first thing that attracts attention is the lightweight sound (compared to a previous albums). The sound has become cleaner and more readable, the band and engineers have done work, as if they turned "fat" into "relief". And this should be understood not as a compromise, but as a way to convey an idea.
All tracks are perfectly different from each other, which for such a niche band in the fourth decade of their career and an extensive discography of 12 full-formats looks like a really great achievement. The traditional set of expressive means, as always, varies from suffocating slowdowns to a sweeping speeding. Once again, Incantation managed to give the world serious release worthy of the title of one of the best records of the year in the genre and album for realy multiple listening.
The vinyl release was made quite easy: a single sleeve, an insert and coloured vinyl in a cheap paper envelope without protection (Relapse again saved on an antistatic envelope). The album has an amazing artwork and the color design of the vinyl is combined with it - a kind of caustic yellow-green pus infection. In of sound, everything is quite high-quality, much richer and deeper than on a CD or on a digital copy. Closer to the end of the "Death" side, a small uncritical crack is heard in the last seconds of the A6, but this is the only flaw that could be detected. And it didn't spoil the impression in any way. Otherwise, everything is fine.
