Phoebe Bridgers – Punisher

What an abysmal pressing. My brand new (sealed) record is full of hiss and surface noise, especially on side A. Under the light I can see what looks like some foggy residue. Even a thorough cleaning did not help. The record is also slightly warped. Whatever happened to quality control?

A few pops and clicks here and there, it's a tricky album for this as there's a lot of quiet bits. But the mix/master itself is lovely and it's great to own this one.

I got this used yesterday at my favorite record store. Just spun it for the first time and the sound is absolutely amazing. No static or pops, very clear.

My copy sounds very good but does have some warping. Not enough to affect playback thankfully but its disappointing how difficult it is to find a copy of this album without any issues

The black vinyl pressing I have is fairly quiet. Phoebe's vocals sound amazing, and this is the best way to listen to her music.

Excellent sounding pressing. Virtually "noise" free. Played on a Yamaha GT-2000 w/ZYX Airy 3 cartridge.

Am I the only one whose vinyl has the labels on the wrong side? E.g Side A start with Moon song, Side B with DVD Menu? Otherwise, sounds great compared to the other coloured variants.

This thing sounds awful. Very disappointing. One of the noisiest releases I’ve ever heard from any era/genre. And there’s no other quality to the sound here that is positive enough to redeem it- at it’s best moments it simply sounds acceptable. At it’s worst it ultimately ends up being too rough to listen to when I know that I can just switch to the 10x superior Apple Music lossless version. Someone somewhere should be fired for this crime against what is otherwise a really good album. I have old records I inherited from my dad’s musty basement that have been played hundreds of times over the decades that sound better than this junk. Possibly the most disappointing record I’ve purchased.

The gold color of the pressing is neat though.

9.8/10 pressing. At first i was scared to get this from reading the reviews here but I still bit the bullet for the colors and damn I was suprised on how excellent the sound quality is. Literally little to no surface noise on the quiet part, the bass is punchy and the highs are very clean, no sibilance AT ALL.

For comparison, the sound quality of side A of my standard black pressing is very good, surface noise on the quiet parts but not too distracting. but Side B on the other hand, it is full of surface noise the sibilance on each track (starting from Savior Complex) is very distracting. In fact, the sibilance drags out until the the last track, which is... weird.

The QC of her albums is definitely hit or miss, if you somehow got a nice copy, consider yourself lucky.
