Faith No More – We Care A Lot

Had this years ago. Its okay. But got tired of it.

I didn't realize this was an unofficial release when I bought it. It looks well-packaged, and the vinyl is in good shape and no bad surface noise. It's a cool, quirky album that illuminates the roots of the band, but no question Faith No More became great later when Mike Patton ed.

CD is mastered very hot. Ran it through a DAW and its peaks constantly. Does not sound over compressed to my ears.

in my opinion this is THE copy to own and play. great sound and still affordable to buy. not necessarily my favorite album from my FAVORITE band, but its a good listen once in a while. i truly appreciate where they were going with their sound early on but Chuck Mosley's vocals are not that great....maybe i feel that way cuz i am such a huge Mike Patton fan but its how i feel. i also feel that Chucks vocals got better after he left the band on subsequent recordings. but overall this is a great package, solid sound and most importantly a very nice pressing overall, thank you Billy Gould and Koolarrow for the package.

got this today, brand new, for €0.89 at FNAC while i was just spending some time waiting for me girl :)

Ive changed the release-year to 1987, (not 1990-91 as someone stated) I got it when it was released, so I´m very sure about the year.

Back when FNM still had this european post-punk vibe. This is a great debut album. Of course, Mosely is no Patton and his vocals sound a bit too loud and out of tune at times but they suit the band's sound nicely. The Jungle and Arabian Disco are easily amond FNM's best material, and of course, We care a lot (earlier and punchier version than the one on Introduce Yourself). This edition is quite basic but you get the lyrics and band pics. It sounds ok for an album of that period, recorded with limited resources.

The best sounding version among the recent reissues of the last few years.

People should avoid this record. Stick with the Koolarrow release which used the master tapes unlike this one which appears to be a needle drop (there's a distinct pop at the end of "Jim").

Additionally, the people who put this release together did a terrible job. The LP's not fully white, there are black marks within the vinyl but not in a splatter-effect kind of way. More like they didn't clean the machine properly before pressing this record. More significant is the fake lead-in groove (which seems to be more and more common on cheaply made colored vinyl releases). It's a raised lip on the record's outer edge so that stylus essentially falls off the lip onto the record. This leads to it randomly landing in the groove somewhere after the song begins. To get it to start before the song I had to drop the stylus onto the record and then start the turntable.

In of sound it is far inferior to the Koolarrow release. The mix is bad. The drums are too prominent and frequently it's one of the other three instruments (guitar, bass, keyboards) burying the other two. When all of the other instruments are playing at the same time and you can somewhat make out all of the instruments it sounds muddy.

Absolutely beautiful pressing, picked it up a while back when they were going out cheap.

Why Do You Bother is definitely a stand-out in of sound, but also of songwriting capability of this band in its infancy.

Not sure how this compares to the 2 x LP Reissue, but this is doing me just fine for now.
