referencing Chatterton (CD, Album) 523 111-2
At his peak, Bashung pays a tribute to melancholy. Sometimes jazzy, sometimes country, often eclectic, an always corrupting mood reigns under ironic plays on words that try to hide an insubmersible despair, an extrem untranslatable superficial sensibility surfs on Michael Brook's infinite sustained guitars.
The clown cries acid tears as the band celebrates the death of the light.
If you can't stand the blues, avoid this record.
