Fantastic compilation of tunes. As others have stated color is more hot pink, maybe it was supposed to called blood orange.

My version only have 2xLP it is amazing I feel this every time I put the needle to the groove -
Edited one year agoMy records have got some pretty rough edges. And the spindle hole is a bit to small. Hope the pressing plant sharpened their knifes later on.
The music & overall sound is great!! -

great re-issue! Looks good, plays well.
One thing though: the vinyl is billed as "orange" on the outer sticker, but my copy really is a magenta/pink translucent on all 3 discs. Definitely not orange. -
i am thrilled with this sampler. in my opinion an outstanding dynamic pressing. great variations of well-known classics. finally a production that values good quality and prefers to produce 3 discs instead of 2 for a corresponding playing time. you certainly can't expect any miracles from the old master tapes. but hats off to this production for some extended cuts.
strangely, my vinyls are not orange but completely pink.
absolutely recommended for all jamaican ska-jazz fans.
grab one of these if you can, you won't be disappointed. -

Why make a 3xlp compilation if the sides are only about 8-12 minutes long? It’s not like this is a hi fi release.. -
Edited 4 years agoWhat could go wrong with a compi that offers tunes like money generator, ringo rock, push pull or jerico skank? to name just a few. just gorgeous and I love the CD version for its brilliant sound. S1 at its ultimate best.

nothing in the world got as much spirit as these instrumentals made in the 60ies and 70ies . adventurous musical journeys with class - These tracks still are the foundation and source of most reggae produced , even today . The Bassline , the Horn Section , the melody or all together constantly used over and over again . This is truely a phenomen . 2 me these Scorchers sound better today than ever before = The Real Thing . Mr. Dodd said it best in the liner notes "Thank God for the effort I made when i was younger to dedicate myself to putting out the music . The music I've produced is timeless and the demand for it is simply limitless." Joyfull sounds that carry the swing everytime ...
