Notes
Evanescence's second studio album, released on September 25, 2006 by Wind-up Records. The writing process for the album took over 18 months to complete; most of the songs were written by Amy Lee and Terry Balsamo, while production was handled by Dave Fortman.
The digital version of the album was made available for pre-order on August 15, 2006, on iTunes. The pre-order, if bought before October 3, 2006, included an interview with Amy Lee and a bonus track titled "The Last Song I'm Wasting on You", which later appeared as a B-side track on the "Lithium" single.

really good sounding album. I found it for 25 bucks at my local record store sealed in the used arrivals section. -
These discs sound much better than the 2xLPs Fallen, although I would have preferred a little more presence in the lower end of the spectrum (however, I did get a rather pronounced pop on the Lithium track).
On the other hand, a 2xLPs in a single sleeve instead of a gatefold is a really cheap decision. As are the glossy inner sleeves, which are damaged by the records at the points of friction because they're not antistatic, and also soil the vinyles. -

I finally own this vinyl! My copy sounds FANTASTIC. No static, no pops, the vinyl itself is beautiful and Amy’s voice is insanely touching. Such a great pressing and album. So happy to own this variant! -

After having bad luck with the RSD version I finally picked up this copy as a replacement. Very quiet and the records have no warp. Sounds good to me with full dynamic range. I don't know if it's a digital cut, a copy of the earlier repress, or whatever. Maybe not quite an "audiophile" recording but I'm happy with it. The soundstage may be lacking just a smidge. -

Looks beautiful and the mastering is out of this world but my copy has tons of pops and clicks, especially on Good Enough which sucks cus in every other way this pressing is really good. -

Absolutely brilliant album, great colour to the prints and hardly any crackle or other issues.
The Open Door is an amazing album with a heavy amount of emotion, and having it on Vinyl just adds to that on the right system. -

My copy ed the test, very clean throughout. Unfortunately RSD titles are hit or miss. Check other stores, some still have copies of this one if you want to risk it . I went 0 for 2 trying to get a good copy of Alice In Chains-Sap last year, oh well want can you do. As far as the colored vinyl, the gray marble is very clean sounding. Some will try to convince you that black is best but I've come across shitty black ones too, it's bullshit so believe what you want. Now as for the music, Evanescence hit it out of the park here on this sophomore effort. The debut was great in it's own right but this one has an added maturity with nary a bad toon. The closer Good Enough just bleeds with emotion like no other....really. -
